Through sorting out and analysing the measured data of 1 451 geothermal measuring points published in the Chinese mainland, an information database of geothermal measuring points is established based on ArcGIS platform. Any geographical coordinates can be input to query the information of measuring points within the specified range of the coordinate points. Using the existing measuring point data on ArcGIS platform, the general Kriging interpolation is applied to carry out spatial interpolation in the whole Chinese mainland area to obtain the geothermal heat flow prediction values with a spatial resolution of 100 m and the geothermal gradient prediction values within 1 000 m. The prediction values are added to the database to form a complete geothermal basic database which can be used to query the heat flow values at any place and the geothermal gradient values within 1 000 m. The main factors affecting the geothermal distribution are discussed, providing a reference for correcting the geothermal basic data. This database can provide basic data support for the design of geothermal utilization systems and underground engineering hot and humid environment control systems.
